Development of Life Skills

Homely Community Services aims to supporting participants develop and implement skills learning and maintenance requires empowerment and motivation. These individual formal skills developments are necessary to develop and maintain their functional skills in participating at home and in the wider community.

 We establish a good working relationship with individuals to maximise independence, increase confidence and build self esteem

Types of life skills we can support with include:

  • Preparing meals

  • Dressing

  • Personal care

  • Accessing the community by buses and train

  • Making appointments

  • Banking and Financial management

  • Social skills involved in getting along with other people

  • Cleaning

  • Personal support skills that relate to personal needs that may include counselling, referral and ongoing assessment​
